Some ideas and development for my set of 5 prints
Researching hominids and geological timeline to show as accurate of a progression between modern human and first known ancestors.
Idea is to timeline, in a sequence of prints, the evolution and "de-evolution" of the hominid species which led to modern homo sapiens.
It is not meant to be negative social commentary, just a reflection of inverted time frames, and essentially the message is that we wouldn't be what we are today as a species if it weren't for our ancestors.
I would like the viewer to reflect on where we see the "human" looking back at our lineage, when do we stop seeing simply an animal.
I am curious as to how each individual looking at the illustrations would interpret the message. I want to spark the question of what it means to thrive on this planet as a species. Modern humans have adapted the world around us to suit our needs, and for the millions of years we have been on this earth, it is the first time we are living in it so comfortably but at the same time, destroying it to such an extent that todays footprint is one that could take an unknown number of years to erase.
