Monoprint Experiments

I tried a bit of monoprinting at home, I like the idea of printing on black stock paper with white to contrast it instead of doing black on white paper.

These prints however aren't very successful. I did reductive mono and could not get the paint to roll out thinly, resulting in really smudgy lines. I was going for a Sofie Lecuyer feel, atmospheric and broody. 

I also did portraits of my main character which are in my sketchbook and had the same problem.
